Week 10
I sketched out a rough draft of the environment and began modeling it in Blender. My vision was for a more stylized, curved environment overall, since the two rides I designed in Project 2 were also quite abstract. I aimed to give the entire piece a cyberpunk + sci-fi aesthetic.
The modeling process went smoothly; I completed it step by step using the Blender skills I had learned previously.
Then I went to Bilibili to search for how to create a plush material and set up the material following the tutorial steps.

Week 11
However, when it came to adjusting the materials in UE, I found it quite challenging—it's an area I'm not particularly skilled in. With my classmates' help, I finally managed to finish adjusting the materials and lighting.
During class, I showed Mr. Duriraju my progress. He suggested brightening the ambient lighting since the installation was hard to see clearly now. But I shared my vision with him: a cosmic-themed virtual cyber playground. He then advised adding spotlights to the structures—this way, the starry sky effect could remain while making the installations more visible. It was brilliant! I immediately implemented Mr. Duriraju suggestion and added the spotlights.
Week 12
But then a problem arose. I followed Mr. Nedu's step-by-step guide for packaging APK files that he shared in the group chat, yet I just couldn't get it to work. I was about to lose my mind!! Later, with Mr. Nedu's patient guidance, I finally succeeded in packaging the file. I'm truly grateful for his help—he spent so much of his time assisting us.
However, I also discovered that my environment, being curved, made walking within the VR experience quite challenging. Therefore, I decided to design a new environment, abandoning the previous curved layout in favor of flat terrain.
Then I followed the tutorial and created the contact points. After importing into UE, the character's movements had issues, but Mr. helped me resolve that later. I successfully experienced my own project using VR goggles, and I felt incredibly accomplished. I always thought VR was this incredibly complex thing—I'd never even experienced it before—but now I can actually use it in my own VR project. This really excites me; it makes all the difficulties I faced with previous assignments seem insignificant in comparison.
