Application design 2

Application Design II

Task 01: App Design I Self-Evaluation & Reflection

1、Write a reflection on the outcome of App Design I's work
2、Determine what should be changed and updated

Reflection:

In this Brandy Melville style shopping app interface design, I completed the interface prototype of a whole set of processes from user login, homepage browsing, product details to customer service. The overall design reflects the brand's girlish and minimalist style, but in the actual display, I also found some areas that can be improved. For example, the color scheme and button styles of some pages lacked uniformity, the user navigation process was slightly complicated, and the information in the help center was too densely arranged, which affected the overall readability and efficiency of use. Through this design, I realized that the consistency of the UI, the simplicity of user operation, and the visual expression of the content are very critical to improving the user experience. In the future, when optimizing the design, I will pay more attention to the visual unity and the smoothness of user behavioral logic, so as to enhance the professionalism and practicality of the app.

Visual design optimization:

1. Style unification
The color tone of some current pages (such as the login page with dark blue background and the homepage with pink buttons) and the style of pictures are slightly inconsistent.

Unify the overall color scheme to ensure consistent brand tone.White, light grey and pink are the main colors to make the style more simple and bright, and fit the theme of the brand's sweet girl casual and girly style clothing.

2. Button Style
Some buttons (e.g. "Login", "Sign Up") have weak contrast with the background color, so shadows or borders can be added to improve clickability and visual feedback.

Consistent rounded corners/colors for buttons to enhance a professional look.

3. Image clarity
The resolution of some images on the product page and home page is low. It is recommended to use high-definition images to enhance the visual experience and brand texture.

User experience:

4. Increase the number of shopping cart button icon prompts
Currently there are no prompts for the shopping cart icon.It can be prompted with a numeric corner icon when there is a product to enhance the feedback.

5. product picture support left and right slide browse
the current product details page need to manually click on the picture to switch to support the slide preview.

6.Unify button color and shape
Some page buttons are light pink, some are dark blue. They have been changed to a uniform pink color, while maintaining a uniform radius of the rounded corners.

7. Improve the contrast of the client services module
Reddish-brown text is less readable on a black background; change to a brighter, higher-contrast color scheme.

8. Button style clutter
Change the buttons to the same curvature to increase the unity of the interface and avoid clutter.
