Performative Media (Final Project) Performative Media ( Final Project) LI YUHAN / 0379857 Sonic Design / Bachelor of  interactive spatial design Week 10 This week we finally started working on the physical components of our final project! After group discussions, we realized our world-building needed more grounding, so we decided to refine the story setting first. My main task is sketching—turning the wild ideas from our discussions into tangible, visual concepts. We also need to smooth out the visuals in TouchDesigner. During our previous demo, Mr. Max mentioned the particles felt a bit choppy, the background was too busy, and the magic effects weren't clear. So after much experimentation this week, we settled on a pure black background to make particle trails and lighting more pronounced.  Mr.Max gave us some advide We also added a subtle background melody—like fairies gently plucking a harp—which softened the overall atmosphere considerably. Honestly, though, the thought of...

Performative Media (Project 2)

Performative Media (Project 2) WEEK6-WEEK9 LI YUHAN (0379857) During this group project, we collaboratively designed an interactive installation titled "Veil of Echoes." Inspired by the magical world of Disney, the work aims to create an immersive digital art experience where each participant can become the protagonist of their own magical story. Below is my personal reflections. WEEK6 This week, our group collectively delved into the requirements and objectives of Project 2. Through group discussions, we clarified the core concept of "Veil of Echoes": to create an interactive space themed around "magic," where participants' movements trigger real-time visual and auditory fantasy effects. As the person in charge of PPT production, my main task at this stage was to organize and visualize the group's creative ideas. This process made me realize that a good proposal requires not only solid content but also a clear mode of presentation. I began thinkin...

Performative Media (Weeekly Learning) WEEK1-WEEK14 LI YUHAN (0379857) Week 1 This week marked my first introduction to the field of Performative Design. The instructor began by clarifying the core concept and used a series of video examples to let us experience its appeal firsthand. I was particularly struck by the music video for "Love." The use of robotic arms and mirrors created a visual poem full of dynamics and reflection, significantly enhancing the narrative tension and audience immersion. This gave me a preliminary understanding of the magic of performative design as an intermedial strategy. Subsequently, the teacher facilitated a group discussion where we shared a story, film, artwork, game, or performance that had inspired us. Within our group, a shooting game sparked the most conversation due to its unique narrative mechanics. At the end of the class, the teacher briefly outlined the main tasks for the semester. This session fundamentally reshaped my understanding ...
